All about Emily Hankins

Emily Hankins Cakes was established in 2012 inspired by a lifelong passion for baking and a desire to pursue a creative career.
Having come from an art and graphic design background, Emily has a natural eye for painting and illustration. When she started making cakes more professionally for friends and family it seemed instinctive to use painting as a means of decoration. Through honing her cake-painting skills Emily developed a signature style and a preferred method and soon came to be recognised as one of the UK’s best edible painting specialists.
Wedding cakes are Emily’s main passion. Working from her studio in Truro, Cornwall, she loves meeting couples and becoming a little part of their wedding planning journey. She regularly contributes tutorials to Cakes & Sugarcraft magazine, and our readers are always interested in seeing what projects she does next.
Emily also teaches her cocoa butter painting method around the country, including at the prestigious Squires Kitchen International School. She also joined the judging panel for the cake decorating competitions at the Squires Kitchen Exhibition.
