Bestselling author and much-loved host of The Great British Bake Off, Mary Berry CBE, received the Outstanding Achievement Award at the Specsavers National Book Awards in November.
Mary was awarded the coveted prize by long-time friend and fellow culinary legend Ken Hom OBE, in recognition of her successful career spanning over 60 years, taking her from cookery editor to TV personality and bestselling author. To date she has published over 80 bestselling cookery books and sold more than five million copies around the world.

The National Book Awards showcases the best of British writing and publishing, whilst celebrating books with wide popular appeal, critical acclaim and commercial success. There are 11 categories, with other winners including Yotam Ottolenghi for Plenty More in the Food and Drink Book of the Year category. The overall winner, voted for by readers, was The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton.
