Naomi Yamamoto is a well-respected Japanese wedding cake designer, sugar artist and instructor who has been teaching her specialist techniques for over 30 years.
Naomi Yamamoto is a well-respected sugarcrafter who has been teaching her specialist techniques for over 30 years. Her work is elegant, meticulous, shows a high level of creativity and draws recognition not only in Japan but also from enthusiasts worldwide, particularly her beautiful sugar flowers.


Having studied in the USA and the UK, Naomi now teaches at a technical college in her home city of Tokyo and shares her skills in classes and at high-profile events around the world.
Naomi’s creations often appear in Japanese media, including TV, as well as international media such as Cakes & Sugarcraft magazine.


Naomi is the author of Delicate Sugarcraft from Japan (Shibata Shoten, 2007), Wedding Cakes: The Couture Collection (B. Dutton Publishing, 2013), and Sugar Flowers: The Signature Collection (B. Dutton Publishing, 2019), as well as The Art of Sugarcraft (B. Dutton Publishing, 2014), a collaborative book by Squires Kitchen International School tutors and winner of the Best UK Food Book for Professionals in the 2014 Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.
